Nicola Maher-Boyle, Legal Counsel, Industrial and Employment Law at Slater and Gordon Lawyers (and former ULIO executive member), has spent the last 10 years representing workers and union members, including eight years at the NSWNMA representing nurses and midwives in state and federal jurisdictions.

In 2025 Nicola led the NSWNMA's work value case in-house, working with a team of industrial officers and Counsel (Leo Saunders and Lucy Geddes) – in which the union brought an application for a 35% wage increase over three years, including on grounds of work value, productivity and gender-based undervaluation. She continues to represent workers and members across a range of unions at Slater and Gordon.
