The Honourable Justice David Chin was appointed Vice President of the Industrial Relations Commission and Justice of the Industrial Court on 1 July 2024.  He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1994 and he started his legal career as the Legal Officer for the Labour Council of NSW, before moving into practice at Jones, Staff & Co (now McNally Jones Staff Lawyers).  He was called to the Bar in 2001 and took silk in 2019.  An eminent practitioner of industrial and employment law, he literally wrote the book on The Modern Contract of Employment (with Ian Neil SC and Christopher Parkin). As well as occasional presentations at ULIO, His Honour has been an adjunct lecturer and adjunct senior lecturer in employment law at Sydney University.
